Sadness and Joy

Mission 2

When you land in the land of sadness, you find yourself in a desert. You wonder if you will be able to walk alone and if you will have enough energy to endure this journey.
The temperature here is very low. It is always cold.
Its inhabitants are lonely; they do not communicate with each other and shy away from contact.
It is not a pleasant place to be.
However, when you have suffered a loss, this is the best place to be. It will offer you the opportunity and time to mend your broken heart, say goodbye, and adapt to the new reality you have to live with.
For a while, you will need solitude and rest. You will probably have pessimistic feelings and be discouraged. It is part of the process. But if it lasts too long, we recommend that you consult a psychologist.
IMPORTANT FOR TRAVELING THROUGH SADNESS
• Your loss is yours. Remember that the map is not the territory and that each person manages life as best they can.
• Take things slowly. You need your energy to recover.
• If you need to cry, cry; but don’t stay in a sea of tears.
• Find relaxing activities that also require concentration (many people knit).
• Talk to people you trust and explain how you feel. They will listen to you and probably help you see different perspectives on what has happened.

ONE ACTIVITY THAT CAN BE VERY HELPFUL IN COPING WITH GRIEF IS KEEPING A JOURNAL. WRITING ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS, MEMORIES, AND EXPERIENCES CAN HELP YOU PROCESS WHAT YOU ARE FEELING. YOU CAN SPEND SOME TIME EACH DAY REFLECTING AND EXPRESSING YOUR EMOTIONS ON PAPER. YOU COULD ALSO INCLUDE LETTERS TO THE PERSON YOU HAVE LOST, REMEMBERING SPECIAL MOMENTS OR SHARING HOW YOU FEEL. THIS PRACTICE NOT ONLY ALLOWS YOU TO RELEASE YOUR EMOTIONS, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE A SPACE TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF THAT PERSON. REMEMBER THAT EVERY GRIEF PROCESS IS UNIQUE, SO FIND WHAT RESONATES BEST WITH YOU. I AM HERE IF YOU NEED MORE IDEAS OR SUPPORT!

LET US KNOW HOW IT WENT BY SENDING US THE ACTIVITY.
